Getting Lost Sometimes Can Be A Good Thing

This photo was also taken in Tagaytay, during our experience in Napa at Crosswinds. On the way to the restaurant, you’ll see beautiful trees with these wooden signages that have motivational/inspirational messages in them.

There's this particular sign I found that really hits home. It happens to everyone. You get lost, then you get scared, worried, and confused. You ask yourself, “Where do I go?” “How do I get there?” “Will I make it?”

Then, all of a sudden, as you keep on walking, you get to a place where you may not be so familiar at first, but then you realize that it’s where you wanted to be. Maybe not even, but you see an opportunity to explore. Or maybe you’re not exactly there yet, but you know that it’s a path that can lead to your destination.

After all the journey, you look back, somehow surprised and contented. The next thing you ask yourself is, “How did I get here?” Your worries, fears and confusions all washed away and all that remains is a sense of fulfillment.

Looking back, I know I could’ve done better. Still, I’m here, better than who I was five years ago, ten years ago (At least I’d like to think so.) Still struggling, but only because I wanna keep getting even better.

It’s not everyday that we get lost in the right direction. It might even be a once in a lifetime moment. That’s why we should never take it for granted when it happens to us. And when it happens, you may think it’s luck that brought you there, but you know what the real reason is?

One thing – You never gave up. After all, the only way to not get lost is to not make any move at all which, of course, is not very rewarding.

Don’t let your fear, worries, and confusion stop you from moving. Take one step at a time. If you feel lost, that means you haven’t reached your destination just yet. Make a stop, but don’t end it there. Gather your thoughts, get back on track, and press on.

Once you start to feel confident even when you’re lost, that’s how you know you’re doing something right. You just haven’t figured it out yet, but you know you will.

I don’t know where all these thoughts came from, but I hope this post sends some good vibes your way.
