Another Time, Boracay | Taking a Break From My Yearly Birthday Vacation
Probably the toughest decision we had to make this year so far is to miss Boracay for my birthday. I'm a bit sad, sure, but it's nothing compared to Shiela who already booked our flight about a month prior, only to end up letting it go at the last minute.
Best thing we can do now is reminisce the fun moments we've had this year in the island.
Sadboi pose.
Actually, we've had three separate vacations in Boracay already just this year alone, including our wedding. Despite that, sepanx still hits hard for my wife probably because we've already gotten used to being here every year in November. Plus, the cost of that impulsive flight purchase was no joke(I don't know why we couldn't get a refund even though we bought it early but, well, that's just how it goes).
So why did we suddenly have to back out this time? Take a guess: three vacations in one year, one of them was two weeks long, and the last one was a wedding- Yes, a wedding! Just imagine the cost of all that. And now we've run out. Haha *sad laugh with a tear running down one eye*
Let's just say we've already consumed all the opportunity to have fun and relax- and we even had our dream wedding this year- that it's time to tighten our belts again and go back to our hustle.
Gonna miss our favorite food and restaurants for a while...
True Home, Station 1
Congas, Station 3
The Pig Out Bistro, Balabag (Also around Station 1)
Coco Mama, D'Mall & Station 1
Damn that made me hungry.
We don't really do a lot of things whenever we're in the island. Unlike many tourists who love adventure and would pay to do different activities like island hopping, snorkeling, etc, we prefer to be normal here, as if we're not on vacation. That's why 3 days and 2 nights, or even 4 days and 3 nights of stay just isn't enough for us because we don't really want a vacation- What we want is a change of scenery while we do our daily stuff such as work and... well, work.
I guess that's what's upsetting my wife right now. We're supposed to be chill-working at this time of the year!
Can't blame her, though. Once you get into a routine, you start looking for it. And this is too big of a routine to miss.
This is a reminder that we're not quite at that point yet where we can just go as we please. There's still a limit to what we can afford which means there's still a lot more work to do. And we're no longer the type who get easily contented so, yeah, there's definitely a lot more work to do.
We may be married now but unlike most married couples whose goal is to settle down, we want to continue scaling up.
I mean, we just got married. Isn't this supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter in our life? And new chapters aren't supposed to be stagnant, otherwise, we'd just end up getting bored with our lives right at the beginning.
New chapters are supposed to be exciting, filled with mysteries and surprises waiting to be discovered.
For now, we're just taking a break. Just gotta need some time to regain our footing, pay all that needs to be paid and we'll be back in the game again soon...
Watch out for us, 2025- or even the remaining two months of 2024- we'll be back soon!
